Install Instructions

To install the Flanders Vol patch, please follow the steps below carefully (as I nor any other person working on this patch will take responsibility for crashing your game!). Do not install this patch before doing the following:

1. Open your windows explorer and go to the RB Data folder. Inside you will
find a Multi folder.

2. Copy your Multi folder and name it MultiOld or another appropriate name.

Note: if you have a previous version of the FinF patch, delete it now and start with a clean "stock" Multi folder. If you do not, you may have some conflicts when it comes to visuals such as plane paints and propellors.

3. Unzip the vol file and all accompanying files into your Multi folder.

To test that you have the patch installed correctly, select an aerodrome. If there are no aerodromes to select or only a scattered few, the vol patch is incorrectly installed.

When you want to fly on a secured server again, rename the FinF Multi
folder MultiFinF (or some other name) and rename the MultiOld folder back
to Multi. If you are unsure about any of this, please ask your CO or myself a note BEFORE you install. :o)

On the other hand, if you are confident about using CM, you can install the
patch using it.

For the time being, we are only concerned with early-war FMs. For the new scouts, as there are only the default paints, they will look strange if you use any sq##. Please do not use a sq## with new planes except #1 = French, #2 = RNAS, #27 = Prussian. It is recommended you disable your online custom paints folder (rename the paintcfg.ini file to paintcfg.old for example) while flying this patch.

A special thanks also to Charles de Thielt, Uhlan, Beck, Schorner, Baron von Helton, Flybert, Rens, MidnitMike, Cap'n'Darwin, Hobbes and anyone else whose files have been incorporated or help was solicitated.

The password to the JG1 Flanders in Flames IX practice server is "flames".
